Suddenly, a female appears, drawn by the pheromones. The male springs into action with a dramatic chase, showcasing his stamina and agility, ultimately winning her heart. The couple engages in a mesmerising fluttering mating dance. But all too soon, the dance is over, and they go their separate ways—Casanova to chase another mate, and the lady to find a suitable plant to lay her eggs.

The dazzling looks of the Crimson Rose, those bright colours, aren't just for show—they're a bold predator warning, courtesy of the toxins it gathers from its diet. Their larvae feast on toxic plants, making sure the adults stay in the "Do Not Eat" category for life. And as if that weren't enough, the Crimson Rose butterfly also does a spot-on impression of the toxic Common Rose butterfly, adding another trick to its survival playbook! With its vibrant displays, strategic moves, and colourful defences, this butterfly is definitely worth stopping to admire next time you spot it!
